Apply For Admission

The admissions procedure for the High School @ Moorpark College consists of completing an application.  Applications are accepted after first semester grades are posted (January through April) for students who are intending to transfer to HS@MC in the Fall.  Our Principal/Counselor and teachers evaluate each complete  application to determine whether the program will be a good fit for the student. In cases where students are being strongly recommended to attend HS@MC, but their academic record falls short, an interview will be scheduled.  Applications can be downloaded from our home page or picked up in the Main Office located on the campus of Moorpark College. Parents/guardians should read the application and sign where necessary. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Several documents must accompany the application:

  • Letters of recommendation: Students are required to have three recommendation forms completed. Good candidates for recommendations include teachers, community or religious leaders, scout leaders, bosses, and anyone else familiar with the students attendance, discipline, abilities, participation, and performance. At least one recommendation must be from a counselor, dean, or assistant principal at their current high school.

  • Transcript, attendance and behavior discipline reports: Students should make arrangements with the school's Assistant Principal, Registrar and/or Attendance technicians to obtain copies of these reports. For evaluation purposes, an unofficial transcript will be accepted.

  • Recent standardized test scores: Students must submit their most recent California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) or equivalent test scores with their application.

The completed application, along with recommendation forms, transcript, attendance report, behavior report, test scores, and supporting material, must be mailed or delivered to:

It is strongly recommended that interested students and parents attend one of our Admissions Information Night presentations, which are held in November, January, February and March.  These informational sessions allow prospective students and their parents/guardians to meet our faculty, current students and parents to learn more about the program. Check our front page for the next Admissions Information Night.  Call (805) 378-1444  to be added to our email contact list and receive  a map and free parking permit for the evening.

Interested students can also set up an appointment for a classroom visit. The student observes two high school classes for a half-hour each in order to gain a feel for the classroom dynamics.  Classroom visits are held Mondays and Thursday at 1 or 4 p.m.; students should arrive approximately 10 minutes early.
